Ramelton at standstill for funeral of father and son
ON Tuesday morning in Ramelton around 1,200 people walked slowly to St Mary's Chapel on the hill behind the cortege of the father and son killed in a two car collision at Burt on Saturday morning. John Gallagher (59) and his son Sean's (24) coffins were followed to the church from their Castle Street home by John's distraught widow Hillary who linked arms with her daughters, Aisling (22), Aoife (18) and Eilish (14), and Sean's girlfriend, Lauren Proctor. Donegal's enfant terrible of the art world, Kevin Sharkey, has again stirred controversy with his new artwork which merges glamour model Katie Price with Moors Murderer, Myra Hindley. The edgy new portrait, entitled 'Public Enemy Number One', went on display at an exhibition which opened in Dublin this week. Another tongue-in-cheek work in the exhibition shows Angelina Jolie and Madonna passing each other in a supermarket, each with a trolley full of African children.
