Raphoe Diocesan Readoiri competition
The Raphoe Diocesan final of the Pioneer Talent Competition, Readoiri, takes places this Sunday, December 3, at 3 p.m. in Kilmacrennan hall. The event is being hosted by the Kilmacrennan Centre to whom the Diocesan Council is very grateful and will feature the winners of the Regional finals which have been held over the past few weeks. Competitors are requested to be in the hall at 2.30 p.m.
The winners on Sunday will go forward to the Ulster final which will be held on two Saturdays, January 27 and February 3. Venues to be announced. Everybody is welcome to what will be an afternoon of talent in music, song, dance and speech and drama.
AnTasice Crafts Fair
THE annual An Taisce Donegal Association Christmas fair will take place this Sunday in the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny.
The bumper event will include more than 40 stalls exhibiting arts and crafts. The event has been organised to encourage and highlight traditional craft making in Donegal. There will be a large selection of Irish made crafts of high quality including ceramics, furniture, jewellery, wood turning, painting, glass, knitwear, pottery, weaving, candles and photography. It will be an ideal opportunity to get some beautiful Christmas gifts. The sale will commence at 12 noon and run to 6pm.
Meanwhile, the prizes for the schools competition 'The Day The Flay Went Up' will also be awarded at Sunday's fair. The first prize was won by Scoil Colmcille in Malin who were the most recent recipient of the Green Flag. Runners up were Scoil Naomh Fiachra, Illistrin, Letterkenny and Creeslough NS.
