Council seeks bridge tenders

DONEGAL County Council has advertised for tenders for major works to a number of bridges.

The council has tendered for the replacement of parapets at three existing national road bridges and replacement of reinforced concrete deck slabs and parapets at a fourth bridge. Works also include demolition, service relocations, waterproofing and installation of safety barriers.

The bridges in question are: N14 Port Road Bridge, N15 Cavangarden bridge, N15 Red burn bridge (Barnesmore Gap) and N56 Lurgy bridge, Kilmacrennan.

As the tender has only been advertised the council could not comment on the exact cost of the scheme. At this stage it is envisaged that works will be completed to the four bridges between mid September and the end of October.
