STEPS are being taken to ease parking problems and traffic congestion at the Church of the Irish Martyrs in Letterkenny. Work has started this week on the provision of an extra 32 spaces in the main car park.
When the Church was built over ten years ago 145 spaces were provided. However, with a growing population in the area and increase in the volume of traffic there is serious traffic congestion problems on the main road outside the church grounds.
Speaking at Sunday mass Fr Joe O'Donnell CC said work on the provision of the 32 extra spaces would take over a month to complete.
Fr O'Donnell said the extra spaces would go some way to easing the trafffic congestion and parking problems on the main road, especially during the 11.30 am mass.
