WORK on realigning the Sallaghagrane road and putting in place a new roundabout at O'Donnell Park will take place this winter.
A pelican crossing will also be put in place as part of the road works to enable easy access to the new leisure centre and O'Donnell park.
The plans involve realigning the road from Ballymacool Terrace to O'Donnell Park where it will link up with the already improved road surface. The road will be resurfaced for 220 metres and have two footpaths on either side.
Councillors approved a pelican crossing next to the junction at Sallaghagrane instead of a proposed traffic island which they said would not provide a proper safe crossing, particularly for children.
