Navigational skills went awry
A 22-year-old Letterkenny-man whose "navigational skills went out the door" after he drank too much and couldn't find his way home has been given the benefit of the Probation Act by Judge Desmond Zaidan.
A recent sitting of Letterkenny District Court heard details of the charge against Lee Vambeck of 40 Beechwood Park. The court heard from Garda McKenna that on June 16 at 5.50am he received a call to go to Hazelwood Park where the defendant was standing in the doorway of a house and was very drunk and emotional.
Garda McKenna told the court that he offered the defendant a lift home but he wouldn't divulge which number house he lived at in Beechwood Park.
Solicitor, Mr Kieran Dillon explained that the issue on the night in question was the effect of alcohol on Vambeck who became lost on his way home and didn't know where he was.Mr Dillon added that his client suffers from depression and this was exacerbated by alcohol. He has since apologised to gardai for the inconvenience he caused them. Judge Zaidan ordered the defendant to contribute ¤500 to the Alan Doherty Foundation and a further ¤500 to Little Angels School.
