End Of Scheme
At this time of year, people are unaware that there are any changes in the current Community Employment Scheme (C.E.S) because once again the Centre has been fortunate enough to be granted a rollover. The C.E.S. and all its participants means that work continues at the Lifford/Clonleigh Resource Centre which is based in Croaghan Heights. The old scheme ended on Friday 6th October and the new one started on Monday 9th October. Last year a total of 14 participants found a place on the scheme. As is always the case, the centre had to let a number of them go and the need for new replacements had to be found. Those who left the scheme this year were Graham Jasper, Ciaran McCosker, Tracey Porter, Martina McNulty and Jacqueline Herron. They welcome the new participants onto the scheme and wish the outgoing participants every success in sourcing gainful employment.

Extension
Underway
For the past four years the Lifford/Clonleigh Resource Centre has tried to secure funding to build an additional training room. This badly needed expansion and proof if proof were needed just how much the Centre has grown over the years and continues to grow. They are delighted with the progress of the extension currently underway. The work will be completed by January and the centre will enjoy twice the space when the IT classes are resumed. Another training room is also incorporated into this extension. At the front of the building two new rooms will be located, while a garage is also under construction to accommodate the Centres mini-bus. Meanwhile the work and user groups at the Centre continue with the minimum disruptions to the daily schedule.
