A public consultation is to be held on the 30th November to discuss the N15 link road between Lifford and Stranorlar/Ballybofey.
"Although the scheme and routes were proposed back in 2002 the project had since been suspended. The scheme has now been resurrected and the documents updated so we have sent a revised report to the NRA which we expect back within the next few days," explained Damien McDermott from the NRDO.
NOT STATUTORY
"The public information day is not a statutory requirement, but we felt it was necessary because of the delay. It will give people a chance to see and discuss how the route will impact on them and give them an arena to raise any concerns."
"We assume that the session will take place from 9am to 9pm in Lifford Courthouse on the 30th November, although this is yet to be confirmed."
In response to a question from Cllr. Dessie Larkin, Mr McDermott confirmed:
"This road will be an important feed route and will not affect a motorway to Dublin via Letterkenny. Both this road and the Manorcunningham road can proceed on their own because we are of the opinion that there is no point in holding back on current schemes."
