Wanted:Public input on future of Donegal cultural services

MEMBERS of the Donegal public are being asked for their input on a new Strategic Plan to be developed for the County Council's Cultural Services Division.

The new strategic plan will include the provision of a new library service, a county-wide arts service, a regional cultural centre, and museum, archives and heritage services.

County Librarian Eileen Burgess commented:

"We would like to provide the people of Donegal with the opportunity to contribute to the direction that their cultural service will take over the next five years. In this respect, we extend an invitation to all interested parties or individuals to add to the plan."

CONSULTATION

It is envisaged that the consultation period will run from November 27 to December 10.

"The views and comments of people across Donegal are very important to us in developing this plan and we would like to give an assurance that all submissions lodged over this period will be taken into consideration in developing this plan."

"To read more about the plan and its draft goals and objectives you can find information on Donegal County Council's website at www.donegalcoco.ie or in printed form at all of the public libraries or Taobh Tire service points around the county."

Public consultation meetings will commence on Monday, November 27 in Carndonagh Public Services Centre at 7.30pm, followed by the Milford Inn on Tuesday at 7.30pm, Letterkenny Public Services Centre on Thursday, November 30 at 7.30pm, Dungloe Public Services Centre on Monday, December 4 at 7.30pm, Kee's Hotel Stranorlar on Tuesday, December 5 at 7.30pm and Donegal Public Services Centre on Wednesday, December 6 at 7.30pm.
