THREE Donegal natives have been appointed to the new Comhairle RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta (Advisory Board) this week.

The representatives on the 15 member board are: Antóin Delap, Aturnae, Baile Átha Cliath

Micheál Ó Gallchóir, Bainisteoir Oibriúcháin, Bia Ghaoth Dobhair, and Anna Ní Ghallachair Stiúrthóir, Ionad na dTeangacha, Ollscoil na hÉireann, Maigh Nuad. Mr Delap is a native of Gaoth Dobhair and ms Ni Gallchoir is originaly from Annanmore.

Comhairle RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta will serve a three year term in an advisory capacity to the RTÉ Authority regarding all aspects of RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta's broadcasting policy.

Edel Ní Chuireáin, Ceannaire Raidió na Gaeltachta said: "Their appointment comes at a critical time for our radio service with new broadcasting legislation under discussion at Oireachtas level. I look forward to working with the new Chairperson, Gearóid Ó Tuathaigh and with each and every member of the Comhairle for the benefit of the organisation," she said.

The new Comhairle took effect from last Monday.
