WHICH five words would you use to sum up the character of the people of Donegal?
This is just one of a range of questions businesses throughout the county are being asked in the "Branding Donegal 2007" survey carried out by the Letterkenny Chamber. The comprehensive survey will be used to develop a brand name for Donegal that would encompass all aspects of living, working, education, doing business and socialising in the county.
The questionnaire probes all aspects of living in Donegal and the business benefits and pitfalls of the northerly location.
The questionnaire asks the name, company and the person's role within the company before ascertaining opinions on a wide range of issues. It probes how long the person has lived in the county and to list the top five attractions in Donegal and their "most beautiful spot". The Branding questionnaire asks people to sum up in five words why Donegal is a great place to live while also seeking the negative aspects.
WHY?
Businesses are asked why the county is a good place to locate a company, to put their views forward on the transport issues, and to write down their views on a Derry/Donegal rail link and to state whether they think a motorway would be a better option.
In an effort to re-brand Donegal as a good company base and promote the county's image the questionnaire also asks about facilities for foreign investors and impressions the location made on any business visitors.
