ENTERPRISING Donegal Business Week begins this Monday (5th March).
Monday begins with Matrix Mentoring in the Mount Errigal Hotel, early booking essential. Guest speakers John Murray of RTE Radio 1 and Pat The Cope Gallagher T.D will be present for the launch of the Enterprising week. The Student Enterprise Awards presentation will take place in the LYIT. A meeting of the Donegal Business Network to "plan for the future" will be held in the Enterprise Fund Business Centre, Ballyraine at around 7.00pm
Tuesday starts off with a Breakfast Briefing outlining how your website can contribute to your business in the Carton Redcastle Hotel with guest speakers Gareth Dunlop Tibus and Catriona Walsh OSD. The chairman of the County Enterprise fund will be launching "Easibooks" in Buncrana.
Guest speaker Niamh Sweeney will be present for the Donegal Women in Business Network seminar on making "the written word work for your business" covering pitfalls and top tips. The Donegal final of the Student Enterprise Awards will take place in Jacksons Hotel with guest speaker Bill Dixon.
Concluding the Tuesday will be a seminar on all you need to know about franchising with guest speakers including John Greene, Chairman Irish Franchise association and Michael Bradley CEO Irish Franchise association.
Wednesdays activities all take place in the Radisson, beginning with a Design Seminar with speaker Niall Laird, Laird Design. A Patents workshop, will follow, delivered by Pat Phelan, a seminar on enabling a better understanding of patents trademarks and designs and copyrights. Concluding Wednesday will be a workshop aimed at people wishing to start their own business. with guest speakers Catherine Spoule, Guava, Clare Gleeson, Ulster Bank and Billy Bennett of the LYIT.
THURSDAY
Thursday begins with a briefing on Planning and Financing Your Business, outlining the importance of preparation etc. with speakers Sharon Black of J&S Black Ltd. and Michael Tunney DCEB in the Radisson. Following that will be a workshop on "How to get paid and keep your customers" with guest speakers Declan Flood, Irish Institute Of Credit Management. Another workshop will follow in the Enterprise Fund Business Centre Ballyraine, Letterkenny, on "Coaching for Business Success". Speaker Marcus Mc Keown of the Irish Life Coach Institue will be present. Thursday finishes up with a seminar on crossborder tax and VAT with guest speakers: Rose Tirney and Yvonne McGonigle, Tirney Tax Consultancy, held in Tullyyarvan Mill, Buncrana.
Friday begins with a "highly charged, motivational session" on motivating and rewarding you staff in the Mount Errigal Hotel with Padraic O Maille. Following that there will be a food seminar held in An Chuirt Hotel, Gweedore. Speakers Seamus Mc Garvey, Bia Bun Bhig, Briege Nic Giolla Easpaig, Bidlim Moods, Sean O' Duibhir, LAN Teo. and Niall Hougardy, The Green Man. The Launch of Advance North West by Ms Mary Coughlan, TD, Minister for Agriculture and Food will take place at 1pm in the Lakeside Centre Ballyshannon.
LAST EVENT
The last event of the week is the highlight event of the week: Enterprising Donegal Business Awards, taking place at Harvey's Point, Country Hotel, Lough Eske, Donegal Town. The evening will feature the best of Donegal's small businesses and will be a unique opportunity to network with other businesses. The cost is 25 euro per ticket, places will be limited and early booking is advised. Minister Mary Coughlan T.D will also be present at this event.
