The manager of a mobile phone shop in Ballybofey has appealed to the public to beware of buying a new mobile phone at knock-down prices.
His appeal comes following a break-in at the O2 shop in Ballybofey in the early hours of Thrusday morning in which ¤15,000-worth of phones were stolen.
It is understood the three men who broke in staked out the premises at approximately 5.45pm before returning at about 3am where they turned the outside security camera round and kicked in the glass door of the shop to gain entry.
STORE ROOM
Most of the phones were stolen from a store room in the shop. Store Manager Michael McCloskey explained: "There is no doubt that these phones will go into circulation and we would appeal to the public not to buy them.
"We would also ask the public to be on the look-out for people approaching them with certain brands of phones such as Sony Erricson, Nokia, Motorola and Sagem."
