GARDAI in Letterkenny had a busy weekend and successfully arrested four people involved in arson, theft of a beer keg and burglary of a house in the town.
Two local men were arrested on Saturday morning for arson and theft after they burnt out a car they used in the theft of a beer keg from a local licensed premises.
Both men have been charged and will be brought before the court.
In a separate incident two men were arrested at the weekend as they fled the scene of a burglary from a house in the town.
Gardai confirmed the men, who are not from the area, were captured following a chase as they left the premises they had burgled.
Both men have been charged and will appear before the court this morning.
Meanwhile a 24 years old Derry man has been charged with handling a stolen car and receiving stolen keys.
Gardai wanted to question the occupants of the car about a ram raid at a filling station in Bridgend and in connection with reports of the car being driven recklessly around Inishowen.
James Donegan of Fernabbey Park, Derry, was described as being a "prolific offender" on both sides of the border in the north west.
The PSNI found a car that had been stolen from the Northwest Gas Company compound outside Mr Donegan's house on Thursday.
The key of car was found on the defendant when he was searched by police officers.
Mr Donegan was remanded in custody till august 13th.
