Charity football for Twin Towns cause

A charity five–a-side football competition will take place in the Finn Valley Centre, Stranorlar on Sunday to raise cash to help local people with disabilities.

The competition, sponsored by McElhinney's Stores, will raise much needed funds for people with disabilities in Donegal, under the auspices of Rehab. The Rehab Group is an independent not-for-profit organisation working for social and economic inclusion among people with disabilities and others who are marginalised.

The money raised from this competition will assist in keeping open the existing centres in Letterkenny, Killybegs and Lifford.

"Please bear in mind that this competition is a charity fundraiser and as well as raising money for the Rehab foundations, it is also meant to be a good day's fun. It is not aimed at football players or athletes that are registered with clubs," said organiser Rodney Dullaghan.

The competition is limited to 16 teams with an entrance fee of ¤80 per team and registration is at 1pm. Teams must be confirmed before 6pm tomorrow (Saturday). If you are interested in entering a team, contact Rodney Dullaghan on 086 4088410 as soon as possible as there are only a few places left.

To enter a team, contact Rodney by email: valleyfives@eircom.net.

"We would like to give our huge appreciation to the event sponsors, McElhinney's Stores, Ballybofey and our other kind sponsors Joey O O'Leary - The Mortgage & Investment Co, Ballybofey; The Villa Rose Hotel, Ballybofey; Totelsport Bookmakers, Ballybofey; G Browne Tool Hire, Ballybofey and Just Let Letting Agency, Letterkenny," Mr Dullaghan said.

Please remember that there will only be 16 teams allowed to enter and there are limited places left so if interested you should book early to avoid disappointment.
