ABC church gate collection

DONEGAL Aid for Belarussian Children (ABC) will hold their annual church gate collection this weekend. Young children will arrive in Donegal from Belarussia on Sunday, June 24, for one month. Your support will be appreciated.

Section 140 motions withdrawn

DONEGAL County Councillors withdrew two Section 140 motions, tabled at this week's Council meeting, as there were not enough members present to vote them through.

The Material Contraventions of the County Development Plan sought to overturn the planning department's decision and grant permission for the erection of two houses, one in Letterkenny and the other in Gweedore.

Cllr Dessie Larkin formally withdrew the application to build a house at Knockbrack, Letterkenny, in the name of Sharon Rouse.

"Unfortunately, there is not enough people here to consider it and, therefore, I'm withdrawing it. It had been indicated to the applicants that they would be successful at a pre-planning meeting. Unfortunately however it fell between plans," Cllr Larkin said.

Cllr Brian O'Domhnaill, who withdrew the application, in the name of Damien Coll, to build a house at Magheraroarty, Gortahork, said he had the same "problems".

Personal development course

A personal development course will be held In Pobail le Chéile, Falcarragh every Wednesday evening from 7.30pm. For more information telephone 074 9180111.
