Ranafast born author Padraig Ó Baoighill who now resides in Monaghan launched his eleventh book 'Cadhain i dTír Chonaill' at a function in Gweedore on Thursday night that was very well supported by his native Ranafast folk.
Ó Baoighill is no stranger to the publishing scene having penned books on various topics and subjects over the years since his first - An Coileach Trodaí in 1993. This latest offering from his desk is a collection of stories recorded by well known Irish scholar Professor Mairtín Ó Cadhain and Ó Baoighill throughout Donegal in 1957.
During the project at that time they visited well known story tellers and historians in various parts of the county including Rann na Feirste, Gleann Cholm Cille, Gaoth Dobhair, Teileann, Gleann Fhinne and Rois Goill. The book contains forty-four stories from the different regions and an accompanying CD also features several of the story tellers from that era.
