A drunken uncle, a happy flapper aunty and an obstreperous mother of the bride.
Sound like the wedding of your nightmares? Better not mention the male bridemaids then. If you fancy going to the wackiest wedding of the year, then dust off your hat and head for Gweedore this Friday night.
Iasachtai Crionna (formerly Contact 4) are organising a Mock Wedding in aid of the Aras nursing home in An Chuirt on Friday at 8.30p.m. Several mystery guests will be attending, along with local priest Fr. Sweeney who will "marry" the couple and members of the Donegal GAA team who will be forming a guard of honour.
Tickets for the priceless event are now on sale for ¤10 and include a full wedding ceremony, evening supper, cake, DJ and plenty of hitches along the way.
"Everything you ever thought could go wrong at a wedding, the characters are going to be there," says Catherine Charlwood, Project Manager for Iasachtai Crionna.
"The bridesmaids are something to behold, not to mention the obstreperous mother of the bride. When you see the bride, you'll understand why!"
Tickets are selling fast for this worthy cause and what promises to be a memorable marriage.
If you would like to invite yourself along, then contact Geraldine Welsh on (95) 33333. God be with you.
