Ballinamallard girl Judith Wilson ended her Miss Northern Ireland reign on a high on Monday with the engagement to her boyfriend of three years, Gareth Grey.
It was an emotional day all round for the qualified music teacher, who later went on to hand over her crown to the 2009 Miss Northern Ireland.

Community 'under siege' during house search

Fermanagh Independent Councillor, Bernice Swift has forwarded complaints to the Police Ombudsman about Police tactics and behaviour following an six-hour search of three houses in Enniskillen and a vacant house in the Boho area.
It is believed the searches are connected with the arrests earlier that day of two Enniskillen men. Councillor Swift accused the Police of 'holding homes under siege'.

Monsignor McGuinness celebrates Silver Jubilee

Monsignor Joseph McGuinness, the parish priest of Enniskillen, is this week celebrating the Silver Jubilee of his ordination to the priesthood.
To mark the wonderful occasion, a Mass of Thanksgiving took place in St. Michael's Church in Enniskillen on Sunday evening which was followed by a reception in St. Michael's College.

Crumbling roads leaves motorists seeing red

Potholes, uneven surfaces, and crumbling roads leave motorists in Fermanagh seeing red. And it was the lack of money spent on maintaining roads in the County which was debated in the Assembly Chamber on Monday afternoon.
The SDLP member for the area, Tommy Gallagher raised the issue, stating that, "due to heavy reliance on cars, especially in Fermanagh, the state of the roads is a major issue for local communities."

Actor and priest take the honour's
Fermanagh took the honour's at this week's graduation ceremony at the University of Ulster. Priest, broadcaster, columnist and novelist, Fr Brian D'Arcy along with leading actor, Adrian Dunbar, both received an honourary degree from the University of Ulster on Tuesday.
Fr D'Arcy received the degree of Doctor of Letters (DLitt) in recognition of his services to the promotion of religious understanding.
