A 27 year old motorist has appeared before Fermanagh Magistrates Court charged with driving with excess alcohol.
Tomas Andrijauskas, with an address at Drumclay Park North in Enniskillen, was detected by police driving along the Cornagrade Road on 27th December last year.
Police stopped the defendant on suspicion he was drinking and driving and the defendant, who failed a preliminary breath test, was arrested and taken to Enniskillen Police Station where he provided two specimens of breath - the lower reading being 86mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath - 51 in excess of the legal limit.
Defending, Garry Smyth said his client had been driving for nine years with no previous convictions. Mr Smyth described his client as a hard worker and said his client accepts he shouldn't have been on the road that night.
District Judge Bonita Boyd imposed a fine of £200 and disqualified the defendant from driving for 12 months.
