Grab a 'pizza' of the
action at Loughry Open Day

Loughry Campus of the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE), Cookstown is opening its doors, on Thursday 26 April from 3pm to 8pm. If you are thinking of a career in food come and sample the courses available at Loughry and grab a slice of campus life.

Loughry Campus offers courses in Food, Nutrition and Health, Food Technology, Supply Management, Packaging and Communication. Courses are available at all levels from First Diploma to Degree and Masters, on a full and part-time basis.

Loughry has close links with the food and drink sector and you will find Loughry graduates employed in most food companies, right up to MD level. With virtually 100% employment for graduates, starting salaries of up to £22,000, no top-up fees and competitively priced accommodation on campus it's time to take a fresh look at what Loughry has to offer. No top-up fees alone could save you up to £6,000 compared to studying at other higher education institutions.

BSc (Hons) Degree Course Manager, John Courtenay, outlines just how well past Loughry students are doing: "Over recent weeks I have heard from a number of past students who have progressed rapidly in the companies they work for and they are earning fabulous money. Many of our current final year students have already secured full time employment and all of last years students gained employed before the summer was over. In the recruitment section of the daily papers, two weeks ago I counted seven food jobs in one night, the opportunities are definitely there for food graduates and Loughry graduates are a premium brand in the industry."

The open evening will provide students with a great opportunity to find out what Loughry has on offer and will include:

Tours of the Food Technology Centre to see the latest high-tech equipment in use

Discussions with current Loughry students to find out what they think about the courses and the social life on campus

Consultation with course tutors on course content and entry requirements

Information on the range of financial support on offer

Interactive food displays

Details on the range of careers available
