An unusual yet entertaining evening is promised at the newly opened Solas Gallery in Ballinamore . Award winning author, Julian Gough will be giving a reading from his new novel Jude: Level 1and signing copies of his books.
London-born, Jude was raised in Tipperary, educated in Galway and lives in Berlin. Currently in Ireland, the Solas Gallery is privileged to host an opportunity for an evening in his company.
Julian is the author of the critically claimed novel, Juno and Juliet, and recently was unanimously awarded BBC Radio 4`s National Short Story award for 'The Orphan and the Mob'. It featured as the prologue to his extraordinary new novel, a genre busting tale of Jude, a Tipperary orphan who sets off to discover the wide world and his heritage. According to the critics it combines the stylistic and spiritual influences of Flann O`Brien, Samuel Beckett, Charles Dickens and the Simpsons. But ultimately its all Julian Gough and the result could be the finest comic novel since Flann O`Brien`s The Third policeman.
The reading will take place at the Solas Gallery (above the Four Seasons Flower and Garden Centre) Ballinamore this Friday, 3rd August at 7.30pm. The doors will shut at 7.50 pm sharp, and seats can be reserved but if not taken by 7.40pm will be given away as space is limited.
