Marks and Spencer to open

Marks and Spencer has finally confirmed its plans for a new store which will bring 100 new jobs to Enniskillen.

Speculation about a new store at Erneside Shopping Centre has been rife for some weeks now, but Marks and Spencer has always refused to comment on rumours about a store for the county town.

The details for the multi-national store, released this week, look impressive. The 26,000 sq ft store will be situated at the Erneside Shopping Centre and is scheduled to open in late 2008. The store will give a boost to the shopping centre which has suffered badly in recent months since losing its anchor tenant Asda during the summer.

And the move by Marks and Spencer will go a long way to helping Erneside attract new customers. The shopping centre is due to announce further new names at the start of the new year with clothes giant River Island expected to be confirmed.
