ardhowen

Henry V this Friday 19th and 'The Playboy Of The Western World' on Saturday 20th by 'Love and Madness Productions' are the highlights of this week's Ardhowen Theatre programme. Both plays are very different but both deal with the theme of the hero and the nature of fame and how different individuals take different routes to become popular heroes.

Brendan Shine

The popular Brendan Shine is the star of 'Country Music Showtime' which plays in the Ardhowen Theatre on Friday 26th January at 8.00pm. Brendan and his band have been touring and performing live now for four decades and his popularity has never waved. As he straps on his famous accordion, get ready to sing along with such popular hits as 'Do You Want Your Old Lobby Washed Down', 'The Village Where I Went To School', 'Shoe The Donkey', 'Where The Three Counties Meet' and many more.

Brendan is joined on stage and sings duets with his daughter Emily, while his special guest for the evening is Deirdre Bonner, who has taken the airwaves by storm with successful recordings such as 'The Tennessee Waltz', 'Making Believe' etc. etc.

A special night of country and Irish is ensured.

Classic Blues And Rock

Ardhowen's Gallery Bar area has played host to many exciting blues artists and bands over the years and on Saturday 27th January at 9.00pm, enthusiasts have a chance to see a hugely talented local blues trio called 'Crossfire'.

Formed in 2005 Crossfire are a classic blues / rock trio based in Fermanagh.

Gary Fleming on bass and vocals and Des Campbell on drums have over the years performed at the Monaghan Blues Festival, Cork Jazz Festival, Templebar and Castlebar Music Festivals and the International Rory Gallagher Festival.

Guitarist Crispin Gill has toured extensively for over twenty years performing with blues, ska and reggae artists such as Rico Rodriguez (trombone legend now featured with the Jools Holland band), James Hunter, Prince Buster, Big Joe Louis, Diz and The Doormen, The Trojans, The Skatelites, Little George Suref, Phil Guy (Buddy's brother) and the legendary John Mayall.

Crossfire's collective energy and passion for the music creates an inspiring performance of original material as well as work by artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, Buddy Guy, Howling Wolf, Muddy Waters and ZZ Top to name a few.
