LATEST NEWS . . . Digger driver dies 10 days after quarry accident


The digger driver who was seriously injured when his machine toppled into a quarry pool at Fermanagh's Recycling Plant, at Drummee, just outside Enniskillen, has died 10 days after the accident.

Ronnie Marshall , from Kesh, lost the fight for his life after 10 days in intensive care.

The Chairman of Fermanagh District Council, Alec Baird, paying tribute to Mr Marshall, said, "We are devastated to learn of the death of Ronnie Marshall. My thoughts and prayers are with the Marshall family at this very sad time. We are continuing to work very closely with the relevant authorities in their investigations into the cause of the tragic accident at Drummee on 8 April 2008."
