Cultural Festival continues
in Pettigo and Tullyhommon

The Pettigo and Tullyhommon Cultural Festival continues in Pettigo Community Centre, this weekend, Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th May. After a successful opening with traditional music and song, the festival enters into the Poetry and Drama Section on Friday evening at 5pm. Entries will remain for each of the competitions and entry fees are 3 euro or £2.50 per competition.

In addition to the collection of trophies the festival has built up over the years, Belleek Pottery has sponsored three trophies for the 2008 festival. Two of these have been awarded to winners in the music and song categories with the final to be awarded during the Poetry and Drama competitions. Also on offer for two prize winners as decided by the adjudicator are two bursaries to attend the prestigious week long speech and drama summer school which takes place in Gormanstown, Co. Meath, in July. Worth 370 euro each, these bursaries are once again being funded by Border Action, Peace II and this will be the final funding awarded under the scheme in the Pettigo and Tullyhommon area.

Entries for the art section must also be received by the festival committee before 3:00pm on Friday as these will be on display throughout the festival and will be adjudicated over the course of the weekend.
