Lynch won't hold police to account

I must respond to last week's letter from 'self-proclaimed' negotiator and new cheerleader for the PSNI Sean lynch.

Firstly Mr Lynch's appointment to the DPP will certainly not achieve an end to political policing nor will he hold the police to account, the DPP's have no legislative power to do this and its not in their remit; perhaps he would have been better advised to ask questions at his rigorous interview or better still, read the DPP constitution on the same, it's simple enough to understand?

If his time in jail has proved anything to the British Government, in my opinion it is, that their policy of imprisoning Republicans has worked in his case; he is now prepared to work at the very lowest level for that same system which arrested, tried, and sentenced him - a damning indictment.

Lynch is correct when he states we are in a transitional period, however, it's certainly not to an all-Ireland, it's a transition to a normalisation of a Northern Ireland statelet with a garrison of 5000 British Soldiers stationed here.

The past 12 months have proved for most, that the Assembly will achieve nothing for the vast majority of people, especially Republicans as it is Unionist-dominated and all of Sinn Fein's objectives to include devolution of policing and justice powers, Irish language Act, the Maze Stadium have been consigned to the history bin by the DUP.

It is without doubt Britain is taking less of a role in administration in Ireland as Lynch has stated that's because people like him have stepped up to the mark and have been recruited to do the job for them, republican-recruitment has been a successful objective of the British Government since the 1970's.

Sean lynch fails to mention the fortress MI5 have built outside of Belfast which ultimately gathers information on republicans? Just like Stormont, the £50 Million spent on MI5's new building is the base for that institution. Its time Mr lynch came out of his dream-world, stop deluding himself and the people and realise since you've joined policing - 'your day has gone'.
