Lisbellaw cruise to win

LISBELLAW ....................................... 3 -18

KNOCKS GRATTANS ......................... 2 - 04

This Fermanagh under 14 round 6 hurling league game go under way quickly, when Lisbellaw's left full forward Declan O'Brien fired over his sides first score with a well taken point from play. Barely two minutes had passed when his team mate and centre half forward Sean Corrigan banged home the first goal of the game. Seamus Bogue clipped over two further scores to leave Lisbellaw leading by six points. Grattan's were not to take this lying down and mid fielder Tomas McDermott rocketed in a very well taken goal. However that major score only prompted Lisbellaw to reassert their dominance and they went on to score a further eight points.

The second half continued much in the same vain as the first with Lisbellaw holding the upper hand. But Knocks were to get the first score when Eugen Cadden fired over a point.

But for the resilient Grattans this was to prove a false dawn as Lisbellaw refused to take the foot off the accelerator and they raced further clear with Fergal and Declan O'Brien scoring goals for the eventual winners. Nial Freeman did add a second goal for Knocks but it was never going to be enough and Lisbellaw ran out easy winners.

Still though Knocks are to be commended for their never say die attitude as they continue to add richly to the hurling mix of Fermanagh.
