With four rounds of the senior leagues now completed distinct trends have emerged.
In the top flight there has been a sizzling start from both Devenish and Belcoo who have maintained perfect records.
Four points adrift are a clutch of clubs while five clubs are on the two points mark so the signs are shaping up that the first division is again going to see a choc a bloc mid table section with a very evenly balanced and competitive set up.
Big surprise so far at least has been the lame performance of Enniskillen Gaels who had been forecast as being a side who would force the pace but the Gaels have stalled badly and are in the familiar position of now having to make up lost ground.
Also heading for a struggle over the summer could be Teemore. They opened with two victories but came unstuck last weekend when they turned in two very poor displays to lose out to the promoted pair, Tempo and Brookeboro. Still a long trek in an eighteen game campaign but there have been markers laid down. Game five will be played this Friday evening and there will then be another break for the county team's Ulster semi final preparations.
In the second division the defeat of Irvinestown and the earlier defeat of Roslea has introduced an unexpected air of uncertainty. Kinawley and St Josephs have staked claims to be regarded as promotion contenders of genuine substance. This will be no routine canter for the relegated duo of Irvinestown and Roslea. They have a challenge on their hands.
