A 24-year-old Derrygonnelly man has appeared in court charged with indecently assaulting a female.
John Martin Murphy, from Rosnarick Close, is accused of indecently assaulting the female; of two counts of assault, one causing her actually bodily harm; one count of making a threat to kill this woman; and a final charge of criminal damage, relating to damage he caused to two doors and a light fitting in the lady's home. The charges are alleged to have occurred on the 26 May and the 2 June.
A police officer told the court she believed she could connect Murphy with the charges. She objected to bail being granted to him on the grounds that she felt he may reoffend or try and make contact with the injured party.
The District Judge, Liam McNally, said he was willing to grant Murphy bail, but only on very stringent conditions.
He ordered Murphy must pay a surety of £1000, plus an independent surety of £5000. The defendant must remain living at his current address, and observe a curfew between the 7pm and 7am; he must refrain from making any contact with the injured party, and must not go within a five mile radius of her house.
Murphy was released on bail to return to Fermanagh Magistrate's Court on 30 June.
