There is no point beating around the bush. Christmas can really hit your pockets hard. It is especially sore on those of us who leave all our shopping to the last minute.
A more sensible approach will not only save your wallet a mugging but also help you save a few pounds.
To some the very thought of buying their christmas presents in September or October will have them feeling dizzy but in reality this is a sound policy. Most people have at least four to five people to buy for, and in most cases a lot more. A sensible shopper will start looking to buy around now. Items will ne cheaper and the cost will be more evenly spread.
Another good tip is to keep a record of how much was spent on you last year. If you bought a rally lesson for your brother and he got you a pair of slippers in return then you might want to think again about purchasing that balloon ride for him this year! Or what about this tip. Just give everyone an identical card with a little note saying ' Santa Claus on strike! Christmas Present shall be delivered on January 4th.' Then off you go to the sales and really save a bob or two.
