Bereaved by suicide

'Hope and Healing', a conference for people bereaved by suicide and for those who support people bereaved by suicide will take place this Saturday 16 February from 9am until 5pm. The conference will take place at the Lough Erne Golf Resort, Enniskillen.

The conference has been organised by the Western Health and Social Services Trust. It is free and those people who have been bereaved by suicide will be given priority. It is advised that anyone who is interested in attending the event books early to avoid disappointment.

Barry McGale, Suicide Awareness Coordinator, with the Trust says: "The aim is to offer emotional, practical and spiritual support to those who have been affected by suicide. "

This is the second 'Hope and Healing' conference held in the Western Area. A previous participant stated: "This was a very worthwhile and much needed conference. It was both informative and emotive."

The 'Hope and Healing Conference' has been organised by individuals who themselves have lost someone to suicide and is being funded by the Western Health and Social Services Board through the suicide 'Protect Life' strategy.

Speakers will include Ann McGarrigle, North West Bereaved by Suicide Support Group, Michelle Linn-Gust international author and speaker and Christy Kinneally, author and broadcaster.

For further information on the conference, please contact Pat Hannaway Management and Organisational Development on 028 7186 5112.
