A school choir from Enniskillen has taken part in a reunion tour with The Miami Showband. Approximately 60 pupils of all ages from St Michael's College sang the chorus of 'Joy to the World', accompanied by the famous Irish showband from the 60s and 70s. The concert took place in the Ardhowen Theatre on Saturday in support of the charity, Children in Crossfire.
The three surviving band members, Des Lee, Stephen Travers and Ray Millar took to the stage and were joined by musicians from all over Ireland. The event in Enniskillen was part of a series planned all over Ireland to fundraise for the children's charity. Children in Crossfire was founded in 1996 by Richard Moore. It aims to improve the lives of children and young people in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Speaking after the event Grainne Hanratty, Head of Music at St Michael's College said: "The boys had a great experience and go a lot out of it. They enjoyed meeting the band and also perfroming in front of the Ardhowen Theratre audience and look forward to the opportunity of performing at further events like this."
