Tour promoting Irish writing to visit Library

In an effort to promote Irish writing and publishing, CLÉ – Irish Book Publishers' Association, research partner in the Arts Council Touring Experiment and the Library network are delighted to continue the nationwide Publisher/Author tour with an evening in Enniskillen Library.

This event will feature Editor Tony O'Dwyer, Wordsonthestreet Publishing and writer Patricia Burke Brogan, speaking at Enniskillen Library on Tuesday, 23 October at 8pm.

Tony O'Dwyer will speak on his career in publishing, the commissioning process – how she decides what books to publish and why – the publishing process and all that is involved: editing, production, marketing, sales, rights, etc., and the ongoing working relationship with the author.

Patricia Burke Brogan will then speak on her career as a writer, including the commissioning process from the writers' perspective, that is, how to get published.

Patricia will also talk about the publishing process, including insights into the working relationship before, during and after publication of any book.

Patricia will then give a short reading.

Both publisher and author will take questions from the floor throughout the event.

All are welcome to attend – writers and readers groups are particularly encouraged to come along for an insight into this unique relationship and to learn directly from the publisher and author all about the publishing process.
