An inspirational exhibition celebrating 25 years of the Enniskillen Photographic Society opened at Enniskillen Castle Museums on Thursday evening, highlighting the work of many talented local photographers.
Set up in teh 1980s, the Society has seen dramatic changes in the art of photography from the era of the negative into the new digital world.
Speaking at the launch of the exhibition, Stephen Hetherington, Chairman of the Enniskillen Photographic Society said:
"The Society was set up by a group of enthusiastic photographers who liked snapping with the camera and just wanted to have fun.
Throughout its history, the Society has helped to promote excellence in photography. Through its work, it has helped to push people to their limits, both creatively and technically."
Councillor Bertie Kerr, Chairman of Fermanagh District Council said:
"Through the nurturing of talent and the recording of the local landscape, Enniskillen Photographic Society has contributed greatly to the creativity of the County over the last 25 years. I would like to wish the Society and its members continued success in the future and for many more such enjoyable exhibitions in the years to come"
The exhibition was officially opened by the Photographer and a Founding Member of the Society, Anne Cassidy.
Anne Cassidy said: "I am proud to be opening this exhibition on behalf of the Founding Member of the Society, Shay Nethercott, whose boundless enthusiasm was an inspiration to us all. Over the years, Enniskillen Photographic Society has gone from strength to strength.
This is in no small part due to the good hands of its Committee Members."
