Nine guns were stolen when a Garrison shopkeeper was held up at gunpoint on Saturday afternoon.
Melvin Angling, which is owned by Sean Maguire, a licensed gun dealer, is located on the Main Street.
At around 5.30pm on Saturday, three masked men went into the shop. One of the men was armed with a shotgun, which he pointed at Mr Maguire.
The robbers made off with a number of handguns, including two Gloch 9mm pistols; a Sig Saur 9mm pistol; a Walther .22 pistol and five Hammerli .22 target pistols.
The gang members are believed to have used a dark blue Nissan Primera car that was found on fire at Fassagh Bridge, Belleek at about 6pm.
The incident has been condemned by the SDLP's Fermanagh South Tyrone MLA Tommy Gallagher said: "Local people have been aware of this incident since Saturday and are very concerned that a number of high-performance handguns and ammunition were taken at gunpoint by a gang of three masked men. It was obviously carefully planned and the police are investigating the possibility that dissidents are responsible. No matter who is responsible, it has heightened fears in the area that these weapons will be used for no good end.
"The getaway car was burned right at the Donegal border and I appeal to people to co-operate with authorities on both sides of the border in order to apprehend this gang."
Meanwhile the DUP's Arlene Foster also expressed concern over the theft. The Fermanagh and South MLA said: 'This raid is obviously very worrying, and in an area of Fermanagh where dissident republicans are believed to be active there is an obvious concern that these weapons may fall into the hands of such individuals whose only desire is to use them to wreak havoc in our community," she explained.
"This raid happened at a busy time of the evening and my hope is that anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the Garrison/Belleek area would bring that information to the PSNI. It is imperative that these weapons are recovered as soon as possible and the perpetrators of this raid brought to justice.'
Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who saw the Nissan in Garrison before the incident or noticed it being driven away and abandoned afterwards.
