Fermanagh Family History Society launches thits 2008-2009 programme this Saturday, 29th November in Enniskillen Library.
Speakers this season include local historian, John Cunningham who will relate some of the English families who came over with the Plantation in the early 17th century.
In January 2009, Vicky Herbert will give a talk on the Maguires of Fermanagh, followed by Seamus McAnnaidh who will talk about the Gaelic families of Fermanagh in February 2009.
FAMILY HISTORY
In March 2009, William Roulston, Director of the Ulster Historical Foundation, will give a talk on 'Researching your family history before 1800'.
Ten members of the Society recently undertook a trip to the Public Record Office in Belfast to further research their family history.
Their next research trip will be to the National Archives in Dublin in April 2009.
Anyone interested in their family history are invited to come along to this Saturday to Enniskillen Library for the talk at 2.15pm.
At the end of the meeting, local historian John Cunningham will give a talk, 'From the Broads to the Lakelands', focusing on some of the English families who came over to Fermanagh from Norfolk during the Plantation.
The bus for the research Trip to the National Archives in Dublin on Thursday 16th April 2009 will depart Enniskillen Library at 7.30am, returning to Enniskillen around 9.30pm
On Saturday 16th May, 2009, the Branch will hold its AGM, followed by tea and scones.
