An application by the Police in Enniskillen to secure an ASBO for a Clogher pensioner has been successful.
The application was made two weeks ago by Chief Inspector Alywin Barton, in respect of Hugh McCaughey (65), from Main Street.
However, at the time, the Magistrate Greg McCourt deferred judgement. He then made the order at a later date, and imposed a number of conditions on McCaughey. These are, namely that the defendant is prohibited from causing alarm or harassing any persons, including staff in the car park or premises of - Dunnes Stores (Omagh or Enniskillen); Centra Service Station (Clogher) and SuperValu (Omagh).
He is further banned from consuming alcohol or being intoxicated in any public street or place; from using vile, offensive or racist language to any person, from remaining on any shop, commercial or hospital premises if asked to leave by staff, or from entering any shop or commercial premises from which he has been barred.
McCaughey is subject to the ASBO until a further order for a period of two years.
