Teams from St Aidan's, St Comhghall's, St Joseph's and St Mary's (Brollagh) second level schools competed in Fermanagh's first ever vocational schools indoor hurling blitz.
The games were five-a-side with each team allowed two subs.
The action began with games in the "B" and "C" section, with St Joseph's, St Aidan's and St Mary's recording a win apiece. First game in the "A" section threw up St Comhghall's against St Aidan's and a battle royal ensued with St Aidan's getting one over on the tournament favourites squeezing past St Comhghall's in the dying seconds on a scoreline of 4-3.
New boys St Mary's turned the "A" section into a three horse race by beating St Aidan's 4-2 in another keenly and skilfully contested game, proving that the tradition of hurling is alive and well in the Brollagh school's catchment area.
Halfway through the competition, it was all to play for, with all teams still capable of making the respective section finals. However, St Joseph's quickly pulled away in section "B" and "C" to book their final placing against St Comhghall's and St Aidan's respectively.
St Comhghall's came storming back in section "A" by defeating St Mary's in a 13 goal thriller and made the "A" final on goal difference and went on to win section "A" by again beating St Mary's but only just.
St Joseph's dominance in the "B" and "C" section was rewarded with them winning both finals although they relied on a sudden death goal to clinch the "C" final.
In all, over 20 games were played involving over 80 children with more than 100 goals scored in all competitions.
