One season after their disappointing relegation from Section One, Enniskillen are back! The league victory was made all the sweeter given that their relegation last season was sealed in the committee rooms of the Ulster branch rather than on the playing field.
Having won their section, 'Enniskillen took their place in the Harden Cup and faced a potential banana skin of a trip to Lisburn last Tuesday after an inactive period for many of the players, but managed to secure a narrow 1512 victory despite a stuttering performance.
On the night, a try from Gary Hall and a penalty from Neil Carleton left Enniskillen trailing going into the final minute, but an inspired break from substitute Mattie Burns with a deceptive and mazy run from deep in his own half, set Carleton up with a try to seal the win.
Enniskillen now face City of Derry II this Friday, 27th April, at Mullaghmeen, with an 8.00pm kick-off, and will be looking to a final spot and the opportunity to cap off their season in style.
