Decisive battle for second

There was a decisive battle for second position in the May squash league between Roy Gibson and Mark Hall. Mark got off to a good start winning the first two closely contested games. However, Roy came back to win game three and thus was still in the contest.

In game four, Mark had a 7-5 advantage only to see a determined Roy fight back and win 9-7. In the deciding game five, Roy had a comfortable win giving him an overall win of 3-2.

Jerry Halls once again retained top position for both May and June.

Richard Parkinson, despite losing 3-1 against the top player, managed to take a point from his encounter with Jerry. He is the only league player apart from Roy Gibson (Jerry's squash partner) who has managed to take any points off Jerry since the league began last February.

Donal Cox and Adrian Power continue to battle it out for supremacy in division 2. Adrian beat Donal 3-2 in May with the results being 9-4, 9-7, 4-9, 8-10 and 10-9.

With Adrian's subsequent win over Graham Farthing this allowed him to top division 2 in May. The reverse result occurred in June with Donal winning 3-2 against Adrian, with the final game once again going down the wire to 10-9 in Donal's favour. This allowed him to top his division in June.

The July league is now out with new players of different levels joining all the time. As well as playing competitive league games, all league players can contact each other to arrange friendly games whenever they wish.
