Driving without any headlights along Forthill Street on 29th November brought Kevin Henry Quinn (51) from Castle Street in Irvinestown to the attention of police.
Police were parked along Forthill Street facing Dunnes Stores when they noticed the defendant coming towards them driving a Ford Fiesta without any lights on.
When stopped by police they noticed the defendant's eyes were glazed and there was a strong smell of alcohol from his breath.
He was arrested and taken to Enniskillen Police Station where an specimen of breath revealed a reading of 89mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath - 54 in excess.
Defending, Garry Smyth said it was 17 years since the last entry in this defendant's record and said he had only travelled a short distance prior to detection.
Sentencing, Resident Magistrate Liam McNally told the defendant this was his third conviction for an alcohol related offence in this defendant's motoring career: "This is the third time you've made a decision to drive, and endanger others, with a substantial amount of alcohol in your system," the Magistrate said.
Mr McNally imposed a four month prison sentence, suspended for two years and disqualified the defendant from driving for three years.
