MLA calls for parking restrictions in Tempo

The atrocious parking in Tempo is putting lives and property at risk.

So much so that Councillor Arlene Foster, MLA, is calling for the parking restrictions in the village to be reviewed.

She told Fermanagh District Council that there had recently been a fire reported in Tempo; however, due to the traffic congestion in the village at that time, the fire engine was delayed getting to the fire by 15 minutes.

"A lot of damage was caused to this house," she explained. At times it is grid-lock in Tempo, and I really do think we need to discuss this situation again with Roads Service and the community in Tempo.

"I know residents have resisted it before, but I think it is something we need to look at again."
