Dancing for change at the winter festival

Nine young people from across Fermanagh have come together to form a 'Connect Youth Dance Company', an initiative that is part of a unique, forward thinking dance development project for the county entitled 'Dance 4 Change'.

Their first work will be presented alongside a professional duet by Dylan Quinn and Nicola Curry, at the Enniskillen Festival on Thursday 23rd of November in Mount Lourdes Grammar school. Initiated by Art4change, a new arts development organisation for the region, and under the direction of renowned dance artist, Dylan Quinn, the 'Connect Youth Dance Company' has created an exciting performance piece which will be shown to primary and special educational needs schools over the winter and again in spring next year.

"This is a ground breaking dance development opportunity for Fermanagh and we are delighted to have been awarded funding through Clore Duffield Foundation and Creative Youth Partnerships," explained Dylan.

"The project brings together young girls and boys from our secondary schools who will work at the pace of professional dancers, CO-choreographing and subsequently performing their dance piece to their peers."
