New album from Thomas and Fhiona

We're Still Together' is the title of the long awaited new album on Nell Records, from Thomas Maguire and Fhiona Ennis, and keen fans will be glad to know Thomas, Fhiona, and their band will be appearing live on stage at The Valley Hotel, Fivemiletown on Sat 8th March.

The most recent album follows the tried and trusted formula of their debut album featuring a mixture of duets together with solo performances where they set out their own unique stalls. 'We're Still Together' contains a fine blend of both original and standard country songs together with some Irish.

This Fermanagh/Wexford vocal alliance was born in 2005 with the release of their very first duet 'Promised To John'. At that time both artists were working separately with their own bands but as time would tell both artists would combine their talents.

The 'Promised To John' single spawned Thomas and Fhiona's first album together by the same title, which was released in March 2006. It has brought the pair to the attention of Radio DJ's around the globe as well as heralding quite a few awards along the way.

The title track of this new album was written by Roscommon's talented singer/songwriter, Frank Nelson with 'What Goes Around' and 'Help' written by fledgling writer Mairaid McMahon from Fermanagh. Other originals include 'Never Mind' from an American pen and 'Little Homestead Cottage' from Tyrone's William Curry.

Other gems on this collection include 'Please Feed The Jukebox' by David Ball, 'Long Before Your Time' by Johnny McEvoy, 'Somewhere My Love' from the film 'Dr Zhivago', 'A Rose has To Die' along with The Travelling Wilburys' 'End Of The Line' and Mark Knofler's 'Cannibals'.

On 'We're Still Together' Maguire and Ennis have managed to blend their considerable talents into a remarkably satisfying musical achievement which should certainly prove to be radio friendly and no doubt will be a firm favourite with their growing allegiance of fans.

Recently Fhiona has introduced Tenor Saxophone to the band and together with Thomas' fret board skills their stage act with their live band is receiving glowing reviews as they gig the length and breadth of Ireland and the U.K. and their reputation as an up and coming vocal combination is quietly spreading.

Catch Thomas Maguire, Fhiona Ennis and their band appear at The Valley Hotel, Fivemiletown on Saturday 8th March.
