TEEMORE ................................1-10
LAVEY ....................................0-15
Teemore just lacked a little bit of extra zip in the middle third of the park in this tussle with Derry team Lavey and the Shamrocks went down by two point margin in the end.
Overall it was a competitive enough performance from Teemore despite the fact that again they were fielding a side far removed from first choice selection.
In what was their first game on home soil in this competition, Teemore were to have first half points slotted over by the reliable duo of Declan Fitzpatrick and Sean Curry and were still well in the hunt at the break, the scoreline here reading six to four in favour of Lavey.
The Derry side who had always looked that shade more solid had a good spell on the restart and they pushed further in front before Teemore pegged them back somewhat with what turned out to be the game's only goal.
This came around the three-quarter mark and it gave the tie a little extra bite. But Teemore couldn't bridge the gap completely and Lavey, were in the main, generally comfortable enough.
For Teemore there was to be steady defensive work put in by full back Paul Donaghy with support forthcoming from Ronan Drumm and Declan McDonald.
Rory Maguire was to put in a hardworking contribution in the middle of the park and Robbie Kernan had his sprightly moments in the half forward line.
The absence of too many key first team players however proved too big of a handicap to overcome and Lavey always looked capable of stepping up through the gears if required to do so.
