Arts Festival draws to a close in style

Charlie Lawson chats with an 'Enniskillener' before the show.

This year's Enniskillen Arts Festival came to a close on Sunday night, and with the packed programme entertaining hundreds the organisers of the event can reflect on a job well done.

In this the second of the Enniskillen Arts Festivals the organising committee had planned well to ensure there were two weekends over which people could enjoy the events, and it certainly did not disappoint.

Over the final weekend of the Festival a number of musical workshops ran during Saturday and Sunday, while Blues and Traditional music gave people a great choice for where they spent the final night of the Festival.

The Festival ran from the 26 September until the 5 October and offered something for everyone's tastes, including: Music - folk and traditional, classical, choral, rock, jazz, blues, brass, pipes and flute bands; Visual Arts; Photography; Dance - contemporary, Irish and Scottish; Literature; Film; Drama; and of course the popular workshops from bell-ringing to bouzouki!

Reflecting on the successful programme it's time for the Arts Festival Committee and the volunteers to breath a sigh of relief, and of course to look forward to next year's Enniskillen Arts Festival.
