With Fermanagh again suffering so many tragedies on the roads this year the Fermanagh Road Safety Committee are calling on all road users to think about their attitudes when out on the roads.
Some may say 'it's not me, such and such is an eejit on the road'. And however true this may be we must ask could we have done something to put ourselves less at risk?
Road traffic collisions don't just happen - there are many factors involved and, unfortunately, statistics would suggest that driver / rider attitude still plays the lead role.
There is an endless list of things we do on the roads, some of which are more serious than others, that contribute to the risk of a road traffic collision happening.
We have all met the dodgy over-taker and the corner-cutter pushing to make up some time.
Everyone thinks; 'Wouldn't it be great if other people indicated?' which would make life at junctions and roundabouts all the easier.
Other things people do without thinking include opening doors without looking and parking in the most stupid, and often downright dangerous, places.
It can be very frustrating seeing all these things on the road and then, next thing you know our own concentration has lapsed and we end up having to do a bit of extra heavy braking to avoid that slowing car in front of us.
At the end of the day we all need to exercise more consideration and courtesy on the roads.
Drivers must also give due consideration to pedestrians and cyclists safety especially now in the dark evenings.
Stopping before leaving the house to put on a fluorescent jacket or light coloured coat can make all the difference.
Also, remember to walk towards the oncoming traffic, not on the left, if there is no footpath.
On a bicycle make sure you wear your helmet and that the lights work on the bicycle as these minor sounding things could end up saving your life.
As this week is National Road Safety Week we all need to take responsibility for our actions on the roads, and be sure we make the right choices.
"Lets stop the Carnage".
