Pull on your PJ's and help children with cancer

Come Saturday, 22nd September, at one o'clock, Castle Archdale will be buzzing with mums, dads and grandparents supporting children who will be toddling, walking or running as they take part in a PJ5K, a sponsored walk in pyjamas.

The aim is to raise money for CLIC Sargent Northern Ireland, a children's cancer charity that supports children and young people who have been diagnosed with cancer or leukaemia.

Hug the Bundle, an environmental web based company for mothers and babies, is supporting the PJ5K event.

The event is expected to attract more than 600 people, and families throughout the region are being encouraged to register.

Claire McAuley, the Event Fundraising Manager with CLIC Sargent explained there were, in all, 12 sponsored walks in pyjamas taking place throughout the UK during National Yummy Mummy Week (15-23 Sept).

"We would hope at each event to raise money for children and young people with cancer", she stated. "The Fermanagh event will give people a chance to explore the grounds of the fabulous Castle Archdale; it is sure to be a great day out."

Meanwhile, Marian Gilmartin, the owner of Hug the Bundle, said CLIC Sargent Northern Ireland provided vital services for children with cancer and their families.

"I am very privileged to be involved with the charity and this wonderful event. We will be helping CLIC Sargent promote the event regionally, and encouraging those people who use our services to attend the PJ5K on the day."

To register for your free PJ5K fundraising event pack, or to find out more information about National Yummy Mummy Week 2007 or some of the fabulous Yummy Mummy merchandise that is being sold alongside the week, log onto www.clicsargent.org.uk/yummymummy or call the event hotline on 08451 206 658.
