At this year's Irish National Christian Endeavour Convention, which is being held on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th September, Carole Dillon, a leader in the Lisbellaw Society, will be installed as All-Ireland President.
Young people from Fermanagh and Tyrone will be among those from the area attending the 94th Irish National Christian Endeavour Convention in Carnmoney Presbyterian Church just outside Belfast.
It has been confirmed that the World CE President, Faataape Lavata'i from American Samoa and the World CE General Secretary, Andreas Rudolph from Germany and other World Union officials will be attending the convention.
Carole Dillon, the incoming All-Ireland President is one of the leaders of the Lisbellaw Society and she will be installed on Saturday 20th September.
Carole, from Lisbellaw has a younger brother and sister, and last summer she did three of life's most stressful things at once. She married Christopher, she moved from Fermanagh to Moira, and she got a new teaching job for a year at the Belfast Model School for Girls.
She has now moved to a position in Craigavon Senior High School.
Her passion for CE has been inspired by the previous leaders involved in Lisbellaw Juniors and Young People's, and by the Christian lives they led.
Carole has been involved in CE for 22 years, with leadership roles in Lisbellaw Young People's CE and President and Corresponding Secretary, of the Enniskillen Union. Her enthusiasm and zeal never wavers and during holiday time she continues to be involved in CE camps at home and abroad.
The main convention speaker will be the Rev Dr Paul Blackham who has been working in All Souls, Langham Place in London since 1997.
"My dad is a Methodist Minister local preacher and I followed in his footsteps, beginning to train as a local preacher when I was fourteen. As I grew up, I saw many people become Christians in our home, and this gave me a deep confidence in the power of the Gospel," said Dr Blackham.
Paul writes material about the interpretation of the Old Testament and has contributed to the Open Home: Open Bible teaching videos from Creative Published and CPO. Paul is the author of the Book by Book series material, which he co-hosts on several TV channels, with Richard Bewes.
This Convention will be extra special, for on Saturday 20th September Irish CE will re-launch their logo and website at Junction One in the afternoon.
The new website will be a great help to leaders as there are on-line resources for running a CE group, advice, support and information about current events. The website address is www.ceireland.org so check it out and get more information on Christian Endeavour or the Irish CE Convention.
On Saturday afternoon Seniors will be listening to well known author, Noel Davidson speak of, 'Work in Progress' in relation to writing a book and the Juniors will be enjoying a Fun Day.
